They exist!
September 24, 2016

It may not be a worldwide discovery for some, it is to me! Jonagored.

Many years ago, say over 15-17, way before I’ve moved to Amsterdam I use to live in the Hague, South of Holland. Among variety of fruits offered by local supermarkets I fancied most Jonagored appels. There are not many choices of appels in the Netherlands and among these few kinds there are also Jonagold appels which taste less appealing to me then Jonagored.
And then there was a moment when Jonagored appels just disappeared. Yes! like many of my favorite food items they were just gone from the supermarkets. For years, I was looking for them on the local markets, in the bio shops, supermarkets, never to be found.
And then there came a moment when I started to doubt… did they ever exist? were they not a product of my wild imagination? The question kept me busy for a long time, just on the edge of becoming an obsession.
Yesterday was the Day. The day I’ve found them laying in a fruit booth of a local farmer just a mile away from my place.

“They exist!” The proof of my sanity and the end of a long search for my favorite appels.

Intentions vs. Actions
September 24, 2016
, , , , ,

At the beginning I’ve been very excited to start and write my blog at least twice a week, that was the intention. I still remember the feeling of excitement, like being Columbus discovering Americas. I’ve seen myself behind my laptop, in a bohemian glow, expressing my feelings and experiences out there in my blog careless whether anyone will read it or not.

The reality has been very different though. In the last 2 years I have wrote 3 posts, let me check..yes, 3.

And this is the part where I don’t feel much at all. I’m no different then most of humans having great intentions  never realized into much of action. Until now.

So, what is different about now?

First of all, I have moved to live with my darling in his country house, quite away from my beloved Amsterdam which I’ve once promised to never leave. There are several reasons for it to which I’ll dedicate some other post. Not liking my life here very much (at all) and having no friends or acquaintances in the area I’ve decided that this might be a wonderful opportunity to become a local Columbus of a sort, exploring, discovering and reveling in the blog.

Second, following up on the fact that memory is a tricky matter tending to fade, disappear or alter without me even noticing a change there is a part of me that wants to remember how did it felt, all the little things that my life is build of.

And that is a fresh start, my friend.

Roses…lost & found
December 11, 2015

Forgotten, lost, thrown away or hidden?

While walking out my dogs just before midnight I found them, these beautiful roses laying under a tree in front of my building.

I wouldn’t expect anyone to come back for them, these beauties. Tho, keep wondering what is their story. How did they end up laying under a tree. My imagination could feel up the gaps but it won’t.

One thing for sure, they did not deserve to die out there so here they are, standing in front of me, filling my heart with joy every time I look at them. And that’s the end of their story else where and the beginning of their tale here with me.

People who inspire us
December 3, 2015

“We are who we are” – we may say often. But who are we? What makes us who we are?
In the layers of our personalities lay the bricks of people who inspires us. Some of them we chose, some of them we don’t tho all of them have had a great deal of influence on our lives and the way we think, the way we act.
I can think of so many people who has had inspired me. Most of them don’t even know it. It might have been just a phrase, sequence of examples or a an appearance.

May, 31st. what a wonderful day!

Very excited since morning went to the open day at jewelry wholesale shop to check the latest products and to purchase the stuff I need for my work. so many things to touch, feel and considerate.

I got some really good stuff and can not wait to work with and to test them out. So many ideas!

While walking around bumped into a tiny lady with a beautiful necklace. “Did you make it? Of course, you did.”

Marjorie, short chat, exchange contacts and I’m already thinking what we can do together.

And what a coincidence, on my way back a young man came to sit across in the train back to Amsterdam, eyeballed catalog in my hands.  “Do you make jewelry? Me too!”

That’s how I met Zeb, the ride seems to be too short to talk about everything we wanted to chat. Digging into his bag he showed my his design of earring with feathers and opal, they were gorgeous. Exchanging contacts and I’m thinking, carma and a good sign.
